The University identity and updates
Identity
(a) The University logo -

The University has prepared the logo, a mark of cultural/academic emblem
that depicts its identity with the help of Kavi Kalidas Sanskrit
Vidyapeeth, Nagpur and Principal, College of Arts, Nagpur with
approved from the Executive Council.
(b) The University website -
The university has created its website www.mafsu.in
which provides details of constituent colleges syllabus, courses, admission program,
list of selected candidates etc. Besides other related information of the University is
being posted at the website, regularly
(c) The University calendar and diary -
Each page of the calendar of the University
narrates the important breeds of the region where the colleges are
situated along with the idioms of the laureates of Marathi
literature.
Diary depicts useful information for the farmer
in simple language on livestock and poultry. It also includes useful
tips on management and disease control measures.
(d) The University newsletter -
The annual MAFSU newsletter gives chronologically
the activities carried out by MAFSU and the constituent colleges
throughout the state.
Updates
Formulation of the rules and regulations for admission and academic programmes -
The rules and regulations for admission and academic
programmes were formulated and completed on 27th October 2002.
Similarly, the prospectus for graduate, post-graduate and doctoral
degrees for ensuring smooth process of admission of the students to
the three faculties i.e. veterinary science, dairy technology and
fisheries science were documented extensively.
Establishment of independent Faculty of Lower Education -
In order to generate self-employment opportunities
amongst the rural youth, which is one of the mandate of the
University, an independent Faculty of Lower Education was
established. A total of 152 institutes, including 42 institutes
attached previously to the four agricultural universities and 110
newer ones were given affiliation for imparting lower education in
the fields of farm management. The Dean, Post-Graduate Institute,
Akola was given additional responsibility to function as Dean of this
faculty.
The faculty was entrusted with the formulation of rules
for according recognition to lower education institutes, formulation
of rules for admission, conduct of examinations, declaration of
results and other academic matters. The two-year diploma courses are
now running smoothly across the state of Maharashtra.
Sponsored Research Projects -
The additional charge of the post of the Director of
Research was held by me till August 2003. Thus, in the capacity of
the Director of Research, the undersigned motivated the academic
staff of the constituent colleges to submit research and extension
education schemes/projects for infrastructure development and
excellence in education. Similarly, the sponsoring agencies like
Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Department of Science and
Technology, Department of Biotechnology, Atomic Energy Commission,
Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences, Ministry of Food Processing
Industries, Agricultural and Processed Products Export Development
Authority etc. were constantly pursued for sanctioning of these
research projects.
Outstanding research projects –
Amongst the 43 on-going projects
implemented in various colleges, three unique projects are
established for the first time in the country with a total sanctioned
outlay of Rs. 3.23 crores.
