Veterinary Nuclear Medicine Centre

The sophisticated gamma camera used for nuclear imaging of different body
parts.
Veterinary Nuclear Medicine Centre is
dedicated to disease diagnosis by nuclear imaging in domestic and
other animals. It is a collaborative centre funded by the Department
of Atomic Energy and Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. The Government of
India has provided funds under the Prime Minister's “Jai Vigyan”
Technology mission. The centre will cater to screening of race horses
as well as offer opportunity to research and development units in
public and private sectors to undertake whole body scans, internal
organ imaging, pharmacodynamics and disposition of new drug molecules
without compromising on animal welfare. The total outlay of the
project is Rs. 84.59 lakhs.
