Virtual education : e - Learning activity

e-Learning activity for the benefit of students, field veterinarians and farmers is also initiated in the University. In collaboration with the Commonwealth of Learning (CoL), Canada and International Services for National Agricultural Research (ISNAR), The Netherlands, a project on distance learning through Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is initiated at Bombay Veterinary College, Mumbai in December 2002. A pilot project to develop training modules and software has been taken up which envisages developing IT-enabled continuing education material for field veterinarians. Currently three major areas viz. Pathology, parasitology and herd medicine have been identified for continuing education. This project is in brief is referred to as “COL-ISNAR-MAFSU” project.
