Performance enabling environment
Efforts for creation of the performance-enabling
environment by capacity building with streamlining of the
administrative procedures and practices were made by way of
delegation and devolution of administrative and financial powers to
the Deans of the constituent college and the Heads of the
Departments. A statutory body like Advisory Council to the Associate
Dean has been institutionalized, which provide an avenue
participation of all the Departments of the College in planning and
managing the affairs of the college, related to teaching, research,
extension and finance management with spirit of partnership.
Suitable statutes have been incorporated to provide
incentives, such as, granting increments for excellence in
performance, intellectual property rights (IPR), patent protection
and consultancy activities.
There has been a spurt in infrastructure development
activities for which special one-time grants (Rs.1.3 crores) has been
obtained from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research for
strengthening of the existing facilities. The other contributory
agencies were extensively motivated were Agricultural and Processed
Foods Exports Development Authority, Ministry of Food Processing
Industries and Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India.
Apart from these outstanding achievements the most
mentionable would be the scheme that pertains to human resource
development. After a gap of several years, the teaching and
administrative staff of the constituent colleges have now been
trained in information technology.
