Innovative approaches for fiscal management
Fiscal management of the University is an important exercise as there is
acute crunch of funds. The first Vice Chancellor implemented a
number of innovative ideas. A scheme for partitioning of receipts,
such as, fee, farm receipts, hospital receipts, etc., to the
constituent colleges and the Departments has been implemented.
Efforts have been put to initiate novel service initiatives, such as,
diagnostic services, blood banking, quality testing, etc. This has
resulted in generation of financial resources. Expenditure on
un-necessary items has been reduced. The livestock farm and such
other activities have been oriented on commercial lines. As a result
in many respects, the University is progressing steadily even though
for obvious reasons there is restricted funding from the government.
