Out-reach activities
Despite pressing schedules to kick-start the
functioning and propel the University towards path of growth, the
first Vice Chancellor did not forget his social obligations and
family commitments.

The first
Vice-Chancellor belongs to a farmer family and come from a small
village near Kolhapur. The appointment of a ‘rural boy’ on the
post of Vice Chancellor was a proud rejoicing time for the entire
village and neighborhood. An emotionally charged welcome was given
when he visited the hometown for the first time after assuming the
charge. Following few photographs are testimony of the love and
affection of his home folks. It has been a rewarding experience to be
associated with village activities, like, farmer’s development,
school development, development of cooperative initiatives especially
in the area of dairy and poultry, and representing the problems of
the village to the related authorities. These are the duties every
educated and concerned citizen must perform. The society many a
times is more gracious. In recognition to contributions towards
development of the hometown, the Gram Sabha of village Mangaon,
conferred on him ‘Gram Ratna’ award.

It was a real pleasure
for him to revisit Shri Warana Farmers Co-operative Milk Federation
and attend their 33rd Annual Meeting. The photos show
presentation of a memento by Shri. Vinay Kore, MLA, whose
grand-father founded the “Warana co-operative movement”.
