Inauguration of the University
The dream of an independent University for the veterinary and animal
sciences in the state of Maharashtra was realized on 3rd December
2000, when the new University constituted under the Maharashtra Act
No. XVII of 1998 was formally inaugurated at the hands of His
Excellency the Chancellor of the University and Governor of
Maharashtra by establishing the headquarter of the University at the
Seminary Hills in the old veterinary college premises at Nagpur.
Hon. Shri. Vilasraoji Deshmukh, the Chief
Minister of Maharashtra presided over the function. A number of
ministers attended the inaugural function.
